How to measure without a tape measure
Pace it out
An average adult stride is close to one metre. Walk the length, walk the width, multiply the two.
Use a satellite map
Open your address in any maps app, switch to satellite view and use the measure tool on the lawn.
Hedges are total length
Add up every run of hedge you want cut. A standard fence panel is about 1.8 metres, which makes a handy ruler.
Round up, not down
If you are unsure, guess slightly high. We would rather come in under our estimate than over it.
Why is it a range and not one number?
Because an honest estimate has to be. Two 80 m² lawns can take very different amounts of time depending on slope, obstacles, how long it has been left and whether we can get a mower through the gate.
